Leftover Rice recipe in Marathi
Time: 20-25 minutes
3 medium thalipeeth
Ingredients:
1/2 cup cooked rice (Should be soft) (may use leftover rice)
1 big onion, thinly sliced
1 tbsp sour yogurt
Wheat flour OR Jowar flour
2 tbsp besan (chickpea flour)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp crushed green chili
Salt to taste
1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
Oil
Method:
1) If the rice is not soft, then sprinkle some water and microwave for a minute. Knead the rice well.
2) Add yogurt, cumin seeds, sliced onion, coriander powder, turmeric powder, green chili paste, salt, 2 tsp oil, besan and coriander leaves. Mix well.
3) Add sufficient wheat flour to turn the rice mixture into a soft dough. Divide the dough into desirable portions.
4) Apply some oil to your palm and grease tawa. Pat one portion onto the tawa and flatten it.
5) Turn on the heat and place tawa on the flame. Drizzle some oil around the thalipith. Cover with a lid and cook over low heat. After 2-3 minutes, flip. Again cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
6) Then remove the lead and increase the flame slightly. Let both the sides become golden brown.
Serve hot with yogurt.
