Spinach Paratha in Marathi
Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 3 persons
Ingredients:
1 bunch of Spinach, pluck the leaves (around 2 cups after chopping)
Wheat flour
6 to 7 garlic cloves
3 to 4 green chillies
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
salt to taste
Oil
Method:
1) Crush green chilies and garlic and make a fine paste.
2) Add this paste to chopped spinach. Add turmeric, salt and cumin. Mix well. Add wheat flour (around 1 to 1.5 cups)
3) Add water and knead. Also add 1 tbsp oil.
4) Divide the dough into equal portions. Take one portion and roll it into a thin circle (Use little dry flour while rolling). Roast paratha on a hot tawa. Drizzle little oil or ghee to keep paratha moist. Cook both the sides.
Serve hot.
Tips:
1) Paratha can be roasted by using ghee or butter instead of oil.
2) Spinach can be pulsed in the mixer instead of chopping.

Hi Vaidehi,
ReplyDeleteI tried this recipe with a little variation , I think addition of grated onion or a boiled mashed potato helps the parathas to stay soft for long.
