Rajma Burger in Marathi
8 burgers
Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
8 Burger buns
For Patties
3/4 cup Kidney Beans
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 to 3 tbsp Besan flour
2 green chilies, crushed
1 tsp oil, 2 pinches turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Bread crumbs
Mixture of 1 tbsp corn flour + 1/4 cup water.
1/2 cup corn flakes, crushed
Oil for frying
::::Other ingredients:::
Lettuce leaves 8-10
2-3 medium Tomatoes, round
2 medium onion, round slices
Meyonnaise
1/2 cup Green chutney (cilantro + Green chilies + Salt)
Salt to taste
8 to 10 cheese slices
seasonings (optional)
Method:
1) Soak kidney beans into water for 10 to 12 hours. Pressure cook till soft. Drain the water. Mash with a masher. Do not puree. (it should be little chunky)
2) Prepare green chutney.
3) Heat 1 tsp oil into a kadai. Add chopped onion and saute till light brown. Add turmeric powder, besan and saute till well roasted. Remove it into a plate.
4) Mix roasted onion+besan mixture, green chillies, salt and mashed kidney beans together. Add some bread crumbs for binding. (you may add little garam masala, chaat masala for flavor)
5) Divide the dough into equal size portions (2.5 inch diameter). Flatten them and make patties. Apply little corn flour paste. Then pass them through crushed corn flakes and let them rest for 20 minutes (it will help to hold the corn flakes onto the patties)
6) Deep fry patties and remove on a paper towel. (you may shallow fry them)
7) Grill halves of burger buns (if you like crusty texture).
8) Apply chutney to the bottom half of the bun. Place one pattie on each bun. Top it with cheese slice. Grill till cheese melts slighty.
9) Now place tomato slice, onion slice and lettuce on melted cheese. Sprinkle little salt and seasoning (garlic powder, italian spice blend etc). Apply mayonnaise on top half of the bun. Finish off assembling of the burger.
Serve finger chips and tomato ketchup along with the burger.

Lovely burger recipe . I usually make a mix using kidney and black beans and freeze them for weeknights or sunday game night . Will try this recipe next time I want to freeze a batch.
