Time: 25 minutes
Makes: 8 burger patties
Ingredients:
3 big potatoes, (boiled, peeled and mashed)
3/4 cup peas, steamed
1 medium carrot, grated
2 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp green chili paste
1/2 tsp ginger (optional)
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/4 cup bread crumbs
2 tsp oil
Salt to taste
Additional oil / butter to make the patties
Method:
1) Heat oil into a kadai. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chili paste. Saute for few seconds.
2) Add peas and carrot. Lower the heat. Cover and cook for a minute. Add potatoes, bread crumbs and salt. Mix well. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. In the end add garam masala and mix.
3) Cool the mixture. Divide it into 8 equal portions and make flat patties. Heat a nonstick tawa. Drizzle some oil and cook the patties till both sides of each patti becomes brown and little crusty. Cook over medium to low heat.
These patties can be used to make burgers.
You can also eat Aloo patties as a snack with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
Tips:
1) Do not add too much bread crumbs as they absorb all the moisture and make the patties dry after cooking. So, add them just enough to bind patties.
2) You may add cumin powder, chat masala etc to make it your way.
