Short Bread in Marathi
Ingredients:
11 tbsp Unsalted Butter
1/2 cup Sugar (Superfine)
1.25 cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Rice Flour
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
Pinch of salt
Method:
1) Sift All Purpose flour, Rice flour, Baking powder and salt five times.
2) Put soft butter in bowl and add sugar to it. beat them with Hand mixer until the mixture become frothy and smooth (approximately 8 minutes).
3) Now preheat oven at 325 degree F. Add sifted flours slowly to frothy butter mixture and mix well. Remove lumps. Mixture should be soft and light.
4) Grease an oven-safe container (Pie bakeware). Put Short Bread Mixture in it and make 1/2 inch layer, spread the dough evenly. Make the surface plain.
5) Using a sharp knife, give shallow marks gently without disturbing the dough and cut in any shape you prefer. When we bake short bread dough, it will become hard and crispy. If we cut short breads after baking it will crumble while making pieces.
6) Bake about 30-35 minutes or until color changes to light brown. Remove from oven and cool to the room temperature.
7) Using sharp knife start cutting gently, where you had made marks on the dough. Separate the pieces.
