Beri Wadi in Marathi
Time: 10 to 15 minutes
Makes: 10 to 12 medium vadi
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Beri (Residue after making ghee)
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup coarse powder of roasted peanuts
14 tsp cardamom powder
Water
Method:
1) Crumble beri. Keep the peanuts powder ready. Grease a medium tray with some ghee.
2) In a heavy bottom pot, add sugar and just enough water to cover the sugar. Bring it to a boil. Turn heat to low once sugar dissolves. Make soft ball consistency sugar syrup. Add beri, cardamom powder and peanuts powder. Mix well.
3) Keep stirring for 2 to 3 minutes. Take a small portion into a plate. Blow it to cool down. Grease your fingers with little ghee. Try to make a pliable ball. If you are able to make a soft ball then pour this mixture into the tray and spread it evenly.
4) When mixture cools down slightly then cut it into square shapes.
