Tea Masala in Marathi
Time: 5 minutes
around 3 to 4 tbsp
Ingredients:
40 green cardamom (chhoti ilaychi)
25 black peppercorns (kali mirch)
15 to 18 cloves (laung)
5 sticks of cinnamon (2 inch each) (dalchini)
1 tbsp dry ginger powder (sunth powder)
3/4 nutmeg (jaifal)
Method:
1) Peel the cardamom and use only seeds. Crush cinnamon slightly using mortar and pastel.
2) Grind all the ingredients into a grinder.
How to use.
For 4 cups of tea, use 1.5 to 2 tsp of tea masala. Add it along with tea powder. After boiling the tea, turn off the heat and cover with a lid for a minute. This will help to infuse the flavors of masala in the tea.
Tip:
1) You may use fresh powders of peppercorns, cardamom, cinnamon and Dry ginger. Mix according to your taste. If you like cinnamom flavor, then add it little extra.
2) Other ingredients like dried lemongrass, saunf, star anise can be use. Use star anise in a small quantity as it has very intense flavor.
