Suranacha Kis in Marathi
Time: 15-20 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
2 cups grated Suran (Elephant Foot Yam)
2 tsp ghee
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2-3 green chilies, medium pieces
2 to 3 tbsp roasted peanuts powder (slightly coarse)
Salt and sugar to taste
Cilantro and fresh scraped coconut as much as you like
Method:
1) Immerse grated suran into kokum water for 20 to 30 minutes. This will help to remove itchiness from suran. After half an hour squeeze out all the water.
2) Heat ghee into kadai. Add cumin seeds and green chilies. Saute for few seconds. Then add grated suran, eanuts powder and salt.
3) Cover and steam cook suran. Once suran is cooked, add sugar. Also add cilantro and scraped coconut. Mix well and serve hot.
