Aliv Ladu in Marathi

Serves: 6 to 7 Laddus



Ingredients:
1/8 cup Aliv seeds (Halim Seeds / Garden cress seeds)
1/4 cup Milk
3/4 cup Jaggery
1 cup Scrapped Coconut (Fresh)

Method:
1) Soak Aliv Seeds in cold milk for approximately 3-4 hours. After 3-4 hours Aliv seeds will get swollen.
2) Heat a pan, add soaked Aliv seeds, Jaggery, Coconut. Mix well and simmer over medium heat. When the mixture becomes thick enough to form Laddus, turn off the heat and let the mixture become lukewarm. Make medium sized Laddus.

  4. Thanks for the recipe. I was looking for the equivalent word for Aliv (which is Halim). These ladoos are very good for new mothers and given after delivery. You can also make Kheer with Aliv which is equally healthy.

    This is the traditional method..You can use dry coconut instead of fresh coconut..However you may need to add little more milk.
