Sabudana Vada in Marathi
Sago Patties - Crispy, delicious and one of the most popular Maharashtra's traditional snack.
Serves: 15 medium vada
Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
1 Cup Sabudana (Sago)
2 big potatoes, boiled
5-6 Green Chilies (finely chopped)
1/2 Cup fresh cut Cilantro
1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
1/2 cup roasted peanuts powder
Lime juice of 1/2 lime
salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Sago Patties - Crispy, delicious and one of the most popular Maharashtra's traditional snack.
Serves: 15 medium vada
Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
1 Cup Sabudana (Sago)
2 big potatoes, boiled
5-6 Green Chilies (finely chopped)
1/2 Cup fresh cut Cilantro
1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
1/2 cup roasted peanuts powder
Lime juice of 1/2 lime
salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Method :
1) Rinse Sago with water drain/remove excessive water. Cover and keep aside for 4 to 5 hours.
2) Peel the boiled potatoes and mash them.
3) Mix sago, mashed potatoes, cilantro, green chillies, peanut powder, lime juice, salt in a mixing bowl. mix it well .Make a dough. Don't knead too much, it should not become sticky.
4) Make tight round balls (2 inch diameter) or flat patties of this mixture.
5) Heat oil in a frying pan. Deep fry vadas (sago balls) over medium high heat.
6) Serve with Coconut+cilantro+green chili Chutney.

Hi Just want to know that 2 big potatoes means how many cups of mashed potatoes. Russet potatoes are very big and red poatoes are not very big. Your recpie is very good.

ReplyDeleteUse 2 russet potatoes. Do not use red potatoes as they tend to become sticky after mashing
