Sesame Rice in Marathi
Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 1
Ingredients:
1.5 cup Cooked rice (fluffy)
2 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tsp urad dal
2 dry red chilies
for tempering: 1.5 tbsp oil, 2 pinch mustard seeds, 1/8 tsp hing
1 sprig curry leaves
Fistful of peanuts
Salt to taste
Method:
1) Roast sesame seeds and urad dal separately. Roast urad dal till colour changes to pinkish. First, grind urad dal and red chilies to fine powder. Remove. Then grind sesame seeds.
2) Heat oil into a kadai. Fry peanuts well. Then add mustard seeds, hing and curry leaves. Add rice and salt. Sprinkle sesame powder and urad dal powder as required. Mix well.
3) Turn heat to low. Cover the kadai and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
Garnish with roasted whole sesame seeds. Serve hot. Drizzle some ghee for better taste.
