Sesame Vadi in Marathi
Time: 25 minutes
Yield: 24 medium squares
Ingredients:
1/2 cup roasted sesame seeds
1/2 cup dry coconut, grated and roasted
1/4 cup roasted peanuts powder
4 tbsp milk powder
1/2 cup sugar, heaped
1/4 cup water
Method:
1) Grind roasted sesame seeds very coarsely. Pulse in the mixer around 2-3 times only. We don't want sesame powder.
2) Keep ground sesame seeds, roasted coconut, peanut powder and milk powder ready. Keep a tin tray ready. Grease it with some ghee. If you don't have tin tray then use any flat surface. Grease the surface well. Also keep a thick plastic sheet ready. Grease it well.
3) Mix sugar and water into a medium pan. Start the flame. Boil and make one string sugar syrup. Add sesame seeds, roasted coconut, peanuts powder and milk powder. Mix well. Pour it into greased pan. Spread the mixture evenly. If you like, sprinkle some grated dry coconut. Using plastic sheet press gently and make the surface plain.
4) Grease a knife with some ghee. Cut and make square shapes. When mixture cools down, take the squares out.
