Tomato Kadhi in Marathi


Time: 15-20 minutes
Serves: 4 persons

Ingredients:
6 medium tomatoes
4 tbsp besan flour
1/2 tsp cumin powder
For tempering: 1 tsp ghee, 1/4 tsp mustard seeds, 1/4 tsp cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp hing, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp red chili powder, 3-4 curry leaves
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander
Salt and sugar to taste

Method:
1) Boil, peel and puree the tomatoes. Strain the puree through a fine mesh.
2) Mix besan flour with tomato puree. Remove lumps if any. Add salt and sugar to taste. Also add red chili powder, and cumin powder.
3) Heat ghee into a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, turmeric, and curry leaves. Add tomato puree. Let it simmer on low heat. Adjust the consistency by adding some water. Simmer for sometime.
Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
