Spring onion Pohe in Marathi
Time: 20 to 25 minutes
Yield: 4 plates
Ingredients:
1 medium bunch of Spring Onions, finely chopped
2 cups thick poha
For tempering:
2 tbsp oil, 1/4 tsp mustard seeds, 1/8 tsp hing, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
5-6 curry leaves
3-4 green chilies, chopped
1/4 cup peanuts
1/2 cup fresh scraped coconut
salt and sugar to taste
Method:
1) Put the poha into a colander. wash gently and drain all the water.
2) Heat oil into a kadai. Fry peanut over medium heat. Remove.
3) In the same heated oil, add mustard seeds, hing, turmeric, curry leaves and chilies. Add chopped green onion. Add salt. Cover and cook over low heat.
4) Once onion and its green part is cooked, add soaked pohe and mix well. Add fried peanuts, salt and sugar to taste. Also, add scraped coconut. Mix well, cover and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Serve hot.
Tip:
1) You may change the quantity of spring onion according to your taste.
