Spring Onion Pakoda in Marathi
Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 3 to 4 persons
Ingredients:
1 small bunch of Spring onion
1/4 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/8 tsp hing
1/4 tsp red chili powder
3/4 cup chickpea flour
1 tbsp rice flour
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method:
1) Finely chop the green part and bulbs of spring onions. Add carom seeds, green chilies, hing, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well. Cover for 15 minutes.
2) Add chickpea flour and rice flour as per needed. Do not add water. Mix the flour into water oozed out of spring onion. Make a sticky doughy batter.
3) Check the taste and add salt or chili powder if needed.
4) Heat oil into kadai. Turn heat to medium. Leave small portions into oil. Deep fry till golden brown in color.
