Jambhul Sarbat in Marathi
Time: 15 minutes
4 servings
Ingredients:
20 to 25 big fully ripe Jambhul
Sugar
1 to 2 tsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
Method:
1) Wash jambhul and place into a medium saucepan. Add little water (approx 1/4 cup). Crush jambhul into the water and remove the seeds.
2) Cook jambhul for 3-4 minutes over medium heat. This will help to bring out the color. Turn off the heat and let it cool. Grind and make a fine paste. Strain through a fine mesh strainer.
3) Use double amount of sugar than the Jambhul juice. Take the sugar into a medium pan. Add little water just enough to wet the sugar. (If you add a little bit extra water, it is fine. The only thing is it will take little longer to get soft ball consistency syrup). Boil and make soft ball consistency sugar syrup.
4) Add lemon juice. And let the syrup cool down a bit. Add jambhul juice and mix.
Add sufficient chilled water and little salt. Serve.
Tip:
1) You can prepare this syrup in a large quantity. Refrigerate.
