Chow Mein in Marathi
Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 4 to 5 servings
Ingredients:
300 gram Noodles
2 tsp Garlic, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
1 small bell pepper, thin lengthwise slices
7 to 8 french beans, thin diagonal slices
1 small onion, thin lengthwise slices
2 spring onions (round thin slices of white part. Thin diagonal slices of green part)
2 to 3 tsp soy sauce
2 pinches pepper powder
Salt to taste
3 tsp oil
Method:
1) Read the instructions on Noodles packet. Cook accordingly. Put cooked noodles into a strainer. Let the water drain. Pour some cold water. Drizzle around 1/2 tsp oil and mix to avoid sticking.
2) Heat remaining 2.5 tsp oil in a kadai. Add garlic, and ginger. Saute for few seconds. Add french beans, onion, white part of spring onion. Saute for 30 seconds. Then add bell pepper and saute for 30 seconds.
3) Add salt and soy Sauce. Stir and add cooked noodles. Mix well and make sure that all the noodles are well coated with soy sauce. sprinkle pepper powder. Toss.
4) In the end add 3/4 of the green onion in the noodles. (Keep some for garnishing).
These noodles are very subtle in taste. If you want to make them spicy, then serve it with schezwan sauce or green chili sauce.
Tips:
1) For a change its a good option for kid's tiffin or kid's party. Add very little pepper powder when preparing for kids.
