Chocolate Coconut Balls in Marathi
Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 6 to 7 balls
Ingredients:
1/2 cup fresh coconut
3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp milk
175 gram chocolate
Method:
1) Take a medium pan. Add coconut, sugar and milk. Cook over medium heat. Stir continuously.
2) When mixture becomes thick, turn off the heat. Remove the mixture into a plate. Let it cool down. Then make bite size balls. If the coconut balls are delicate the refrigerate them for 15 minutes.
Keep a thick plastic sheet or a piece of aluminum foil ready.
3) Chop the chocolate. Melt it in a double boiler. Boil water into a deep pan. Place a medium steel container. Hold the container in a way that the bottom of it will touch the water. Stir continuously. (You may melt it in the microwave. Use lowest power so that the chocolate won't burn.)
4) Once chocolate is melted, dip one coconut ball and cover it with chocolate. Gently remove it with a spoon and place it on the plastic sheet/ aluminum foil. Likewise follow the same procedure for all the coconut balls.
If the weather is hot then refrigerate them for 15 minutes. During cold weather, the chocolate solidifies quickly at room temp.
Variations :
1) You may add chopped dry fruits like cashew, almond, pistachio in coconut mixture.
2) A small almond can be stuffed in the coconut ball.
