Bakarwadi in English

Bakarwadi, Maharashtrian Bakarwadi, bhakarwadi, bakar recipe, chitale bakarwadi recipeसाहित्य:
२ कप मैदा
२-३ मोठे चमचे बेसन (चणा पीठ)
चवीपुरते मीठ
१ ते दिड चमचा तेल
१ छोटा चमचा ओवा
सारणासाठी:
१ मोठा चमचा बेसन
१ छोटा चमचा तीळ आणि खसखस
१ छोटा चमचा आले किसून
१ ते दिड चमचा लसूण पेस्ट
३ चमचे लाल तिखट
१ ते दिड चमचा पिठी साखर
१ छोटा चमचा गरम मसाला
१ चमचा धणे पूड
१ छोटा चमचा बडिशेप
१ चमचा किसलेले खोबरे (सुके खोबरे)
३-४ मोठे चमचे बारीक शेव
मीठ


कृती
मैद्याची पोळी:
मैदा आणि बेसन एकत्र करून त्यात मीठ आणि ओवा घालावा.तेल गरम करून पीठात घालावे. आणि पाणी घालून घट्ट मळून घ्यावे. आणि झाकून १५-२० मिनिटे बाजूला ठेवावे.
सारण:
१) सर्व प्रथम तीळ आणि खसखस तव्यावर थोडी भाजून घ्यावी.
२) सारणासाठी दिलेले सर्व पदार्थ एकत्र करून १ चमचा तेलावर थोडे परतून घ्यावे.
बाकरवडी:
१) सारण तयार झाल्यावर भिजवलेल्या मैद्याची एक पातळ पोळी करून १-२ चमचे सारण त्यावर समान पसरावे.आणि घट्ट रोल करावा.. (जर रोल घट्ट नाही झाला तर त्यातील सारण बाहेर येते.)
२) सुरीने १ इंच आकाराचे तुकडे करावे.
३) गरम तेलामध्ये गोल्डन ब्राउन तळून घ्यावेत.
४) बाकरवडया थंड झाल्यावर हवाबंद डब्यात ठेवाव्यात.

    Bakarwadichya avaranala je telache mohan ghatle jate te vyavasthit garam pahije...ani maidyachi poli shakytevdhi patal latli geli pahije mhanje talanata nit shijte.
    taltana tel tapavun ghya ani tel taple ki aach madhyam kara ani madhyam achevarach tala mhanje aatparyant maidyache avaran talale jaeel.

  11. Oh! this is a great Blog. I grew up in Mumbai and having now resettled in Canada, I really used to miss out some of the Maharashtrian food.

    commentsathi dhanyavad. Tumcha mulga did varshacha ahe. tevha, varan-bhat, poli he je regular jevanatil padarth ahet te dyaylach havet. Pan tyala snacks mhanun palak, methi ghatlele shankarpale kinva purya (lahan akarache) ghari karu shakta. tasech gavhachya pithache shankarpale tupat talun dya. nachanichya pithache chote papad miltat te sudha tyala khayla deu shakta.

    खरच मस्त रेसिपीज आहेत. माझ्या बायकोने यातल्या ब~याचशा करून पहिल्यात. सर्व मस्तच होतात....
    विशेषत: शनिवारी केलेले पालक-पनीर तर लाजवाब! होटेलच्या पदार्थाना काय करता....

    असो. बाकरवडीच्या सारणात थोडासा चिंच -गुळ घातला तर जी थोडीशी आंबट गोड चव येते त्यामुळे बाकरवडी आणखीच छान लागते.
    नक्की try करुन पाहा.

  31. 1 tbsp = 3 tsp

    ie 3 small spoon = 1 big spoon.

    Please use measuring spoons to get more accurate measurements.

  42. Vaidehi, I like you recipe, but just had a couple of questions. There are some recipes that use steaming of the roll and then frying. Have you tried that and do you have any experience on what works better? I have never tried making bakarwadi so asking. Also, i have heard from friends that they first use a very light spread of the chincha-gul thick syrup and then spread the saaran on it and it sticks well. Would that work better? Thanks for your recipe. Will definitely try this soon. - Shubh G

    1. Never tried with steaming n frying method.. I had tried using chinch gul syrup.. But due to that moisture, vadi becomes soft after frying.
      The above method works well.
      But I will try steaming method also.
