Chili raw mango chutney in Marathi
Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 1.5 cup chutney
Ingredients:
1 cup grated raw mango (Step 1)
1 cup green chili pieces (tip 1)
1 tsp salt or to taste
2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp mustard dal
1/2 tsp hing
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Method:
1) Peel the raw mango. Grate it till you reach the pit.
2) Coarsely grind green chilies. We don't want a paste. Keep the chilies very coarse. Mix it with grated mango.
3) Heat 2-3 tbsp oil. Add mustard seeds, hing and turmeric powder. Remove it into a small glass bowl. Add mustard dal after 15-20 seconds. Let the tempering cool down completely.
4) Add the tempering to mango-chili mixture. Add salt to taste.
Store it in a plastic jar and refrigerate.
