Corn Tortilla Chips in Marathi




Ingredients:
1 cup Corn meal (People from Mumbai/ Pune can try 'Makyache Peeth' of SAKAS brand)
1/4 cup maida
1 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

Method:
1) Mix corn meal, maida, 1 tbsp oil and salt together. Add water and knead to a medium consistency dough.
2) Divide the dough into 2.5 inch balls. Use dry maida and roll the dough portions into thin circles.
3) Heat a tawa. Half-cook the roti on hot tawa (around 8-10 seconds on each side). Likewise cook all the rotis. Let them cool down completely. Then cut into desired shapes. (chips are usually triangle)
4) Heat oil into a kadai. Once hot turn the flame to medium. Add the cut roti into batches and deep fry them.
5) Remove and put onto a paper. Once they are warm to touch, sprinkle very little salt (remember we have already added salt while making dough)
Serve immediately with salsa or store into airtight jar once they are cool.

Tip:
1) You may add cumin seeds for more flavor.
